arret Weyr is the author of six novels, some of which have been either banned, translated into a multitude of languages, and/or included in college curricula.
She is a Printz honor award recipient and her short stories have been published in the Greensboro Review, the now sadly missed Christopher Street and the anthology Starry Eyed. Her short story, “The Ugly Duckling,” was short listed for the Manchester Fiction Prize in 2011, the same year that her picture book, French Ducks in Venice was published. It was a happy year for ducks.
She is a native of New York City and has lived in the DC area for many years, most recently with her large cat and sweet, sad dog. Weyr has an MFA in film and screenwriting for reasons that frequently escape her.
Garret Weyr is represented by Holly McGhee.
